Terraria is a surprisingly stunning 2D exploration, building, and combat game focussing on an adventure either alone or with friends. Terraria starts by allowing you to create your 2D character by customizing your sprite and then dropping you into a randomly generated world. No two procedurally generated worlds are the same giving this game a huge amount of replayability and making each playthrough special. and unique. Once you find your bearings a bit it's time to get started. Well, unfortunately, there is no guide so you are more or less on your own. Terraria is a game of exploration and building - it's on you to decide how you want to play and what you want to do. While this may sound a little daunting it gives you a real sense of freedom and possibilities. You aren't corned into an incredibly linear story that forces you to make choices right from the get-go. The only choices you have to make in Terraria are to questions you ask yourself. If you are feeling brave you can go off in search of monsters, fighting, and loot. If you are a little more apprehensive you may fancy cutting down some trees and building some kind of temporary shelter to see you through your first two days in this unique world. It becomes very apparent very quickly that there is a LOT to do when playing Terraria. Even if you chose to play the world solo that doesn't mean you're alone. Build huge structures with intricately linked rooms designed to attract NPCs to your side. They will support you by offering food, healing, weapons, and supplies - all in a quest to allow you to go off and explore the world evermore. To make your way through the world of Terraria you will find yourself building, crafting, fighting, exploring, solving puzzles, searching for rare loot, and running away from terrifying monsters. Again, your limits are your imagination. If you have no desire to fight dangerous bosses in search of valuables - then don't. Build a cute village, and make friends with the villages. The great thing about Terraria is there is no obligation on your end to do anything you don't want to. While this game is certainly fun to play on your own, it really shines when playing with a friend (or friends). The world doesn't seem so huge when you have someone else cowering in your house at night. Bosses don't feel quite as difficult to defeat and challenges don't feel quite so insurmountable. Every time you start up a new save on Terraria you will get a slightly different experience. From the way the world looks to the creatures, you'll encounter. It's rare for a game to have this much replayability.
